Cardiology Consultation
A sit-down with a cardiologist to review your history, examine you, interpret tests, and build a clear plan — prevention, diagnosis, or follow-up.
OHIP-insured with requisition

What it is
A cardiology consultation is a specialist visit. Your cardiologist takes a focused history, examines you, reviews any ECG, echo, Holter, or stress tests already done, and talks through what the findings mean. You leave with a plan: further testing if needed, medication changes, lifestyle targets, or reassurance that things are stable.
Why it is ordered
- Chest pain, breathlessness, palpitations, swelling, or fainting
- A murmur, abnormal ECG, or unexpected finding on another test
- Known coronary disease, heart failure, valve disease, or arrhythmia
- Strong family history, or risk factors such as diabetes and hypertension
- A second opinion or a pre-operative cardiac opinion
Before your visit
- 01Bring your health card, the requisition, and any reports or images you have
- 02Bring a complete medication and supplement list, including doses
- 03Note your blood pressure readings if you measure at home
- 04Write down questions — visits move quickly and it helps to have them in front of you
During the test
- 01We review why you were referred and your current symptoms
- 02A focused cardiac examination is performed
- 03Tests may be arranged the same day or on a return visit, depending on urgency
- 04You will have time to ask questions and leave with next steps in writing when possible
After
- 01A consultation letter is sent to your referring physician
- 02If tests were booked, we explain how to prepare
- 03Follow-up is arranged only when it adds value — not by default
